Background featuring the Krafty Kolours reinkers

I brayerd out a layer of hand sanitizer and then added drops of Krafty Kolours reinker in Wicked Black, Purple Petunia, Mossy Meadow, Pumpink patch and Yummy Yellow.  I then brayerd the colors together and placed a piece of white cardstock on top.  I then pressed down on the back of the paper to pull all the ink into the paper.

I did this a few times without cleaning my Gel Plate so that the later prints were more distressed.

I picked the final print, for my haunted background.

I added the haunted house on top of the die cut embossed fence (highlighted embossing with Marvelous Mocha KK ink).

I colored the Haunted house with Copics:
Black: W9, w7, W5 and W3
Moon: YR24, YR23 and Y15 with YR18 and YR14
Bushes: YG99, YG95, YG93 and YG91
Purple: V09, V06, V04 and V01
Fence: E18, E15 and E33
Clouds: W3 and W1

I finished off the card with buttons that spell BOO and Happy Halloween!

  15. What does putting down a layer of hand sanitizer do? Do you do that every time you use your Gel Plate? Also, what gives the effect of those "scratchy" dark lines on your paper? I would think that brayering would result in a smooth look.
